Schools in Finland, Russia, Indonesia and Senegal are set to take part in a project to investigate the effects of ICT on learning in classrooms.
In partnership with non-profit research and development organisation SRI International, Microsoft plans to invest US$1 million annually in the programme to assess teachers’ adoption of technology and how it can provide students with personalised learning experiences.
The core goal of the research is to determine how technology-driven teaching and learning process is transforming at the school and educational system level. First results are expected mid-2010, and will be free and publically available.
