| Microsoft to offer multiple use from one PC |

Microsoft have developed a new product that will allow students to work in class on a single PC at the same time.
Due out in 2010, Windows Multipoint Server 2010 will let each student have their own screen, keyboard and mouse, while the computing will be done from a single system – similar to nComputing's virtualised desktops. Aimed specifically at schools, Microsoft's product will be able to handle up to 10 different users simultaneously.
"Over the past few years, we at Microsoft have been exploring the area of shared resource computing – a new computing category that allows a customer to tap into a computer's excess capability to let a single computer support multiple users simultaneously," said Ira Snyder, Multipoint Server's General Manager. "In the world of education, shared resource computing has great potential to extend the reach and utilisation of affordable computing for students."
