MADE Awards 2011 – winners announced

Congratulations to all the winners in this year's Noel Leeming MADE Awards.

The winners were announced at a gala evening at Baycourt Theatre in Tauranga. The sell out-audience was treated to a great variety of excellent movies and digital images from all the finalists.

The Supreme Award winners were Dion and Isaac, from Ngatea Primary School, who created a documentary on the The Giant Kokopu (pictured here).

INTERFACE Magazine was a gold sponsor of the event – and editor Greg Adams judged the Documentaries. The three age group winners in this category were:

Years 1 – 3
Room 5, Selwyn Ridge Primary – The Cow Bell

Years 4 – 6
1st Emily Ardern and Madison Aston, Maungatapu School – Fantail Documentary

Year 7 – 8
Dion Way & Isaac Goodwin, Ngatea Primary School – The Giant Kokopu

The Erin Simpsons TV Show (TV2 after school programme) were at the awards, interviewing some finalists and filming the awards evening. This will be shown on TV at a later date.

The Noel Leeming MADE Awards recognise movie and digital excellence. There are six categories: Commercial, Music Video, Story Telling, Documentary, Static Image, and Manipulated Image.

My friends sisters from that school , she told me whatever happened over their . The images are very nice , i like that . I am Fashion Designer ,She was looking very gorgeous on that day , dress which she worn that choose by me , Red Prom Gown which she worn on that day .Red color is very attractive for such a events .

Hi there, I am Madison and Emily's teacher. They were just so excited to be judged winners in the Y4-6 Documentary category at the MADE awards. They have every reason to feel proud as they worked very hard for over a term to produce their movie. The great thing is that we didn't actually make the documentary with the intent of entering the awards, it was just a challenge for one of my Literacy groups. When we shared our 'movies' at school, some people suggested we enter and here we are! Many thanks to Greg Adams for judging this category. The whole school is very motivated, so look out for us again next year!!!
